RESULTS
The values of SBP, PR and tissue weights are shown in Table 1. It can be seen that myocardial hypertrophy developed in the Goldblatt rats. That is, hearts and ventricles of Goldblatt rats were 2.1 and 2.2, respectively, times heavier than those of control rats. SBP and PR in Goldblatt rats were significantly higher than in control rats (P<0.01, P<0.05, respectively). Figure 1 shows the results of SDS-PAGE of mitochondrial protein extracts obtained from control and Goldblatt rats. Lane 1 shows the molecular weight markers of standard proteins. Lanes 2, 3 and 4, and lanes 5, 6 and 7 are mitochondrial membrane extracts from control and Goldblatt rats, respectively.
